Today, we went to a nearby park on a walking field trip... The main goal was to look for signs of spring, but we also threw in an egg hunt as well. The students were asked to bring a basket or bucket that they had designed or decorated themselves (with their families). They turned out SO CUTE! I had SO many great parents and family members making sure everything on the field trip ran smoothly. Parents really do make a difference, don't they? We came back to class after lunch and went straight into dyeing eggs. I thought I might capitalize on some of the excitement of the day. A fourth grade teacher at my school (who happens to be nominated for Teacher of the Year) offered a few peer assistants to my class to help make sure things went well. I was SO thankful, and the kids in my class were so enthralled with the "big kids." After a meeting, I came home, brushed my teeth, and headed to the dentist to pick something up, and then to CVS for some supplies for a fun treat I am assembling for some special people.... I have an egg art project that my students made, but it isn't quite complete, so I plan to post pictures and descriptions in the next few days. Probably Friday. :)
